How Sentinel RMS Licensing Works
A license forms the heart of the Sentinel RMS licensing process. It represents, in electronic format, the terms of product usage that you and your customer agree upon.
As a part of the Sentinel RMS licensing implementation, you generate license codes and provide them to your customers along with the licensed (protected) application. When the licensed application is run, it looks for a valid license code. If the license is found, the application verifies the terms and conditions embodied in the license. For example, a license will contain the following conditions:
>Identification of the software vendor
>Locking information of the computer on which the application is allowed to run
>Number of users allowed
>License expiration (if any)
If any of the licensing conditions are not met, the request to use the licensed application is denied. Also, with periodic verifications you can ensure that licensing is not tampered with during the application execution.
